Shaw Bernard is a former fashion model with 20 years of fashion industry experience is the founder of STRUT Models. Shaw was born in Trinidad and Tobago and began her modeling career at the age of 14 when she migrated to the United States. She has worked for brands including Tommy Hilfiger, Jovani Fashions, Ellery and more. In April 2013, Shaw started the STRUT brand which has evolved over the last 9 years, starting as a modeling school, then transitioning to a mother agency and now a full service booking agency. STRUT Models is the only 100% Caribbean, female and black owned modeling agency in New York City. STRUT Models is a boutique modeling agency located in Dumbo, Brooklyn representing women, men and children. STRUT prides itselves on a management style that is personal and revolves around three main pillars which are inclusivity, diversity and individuality. Shaw is very passionate about the fashion industry and is eager about ushering the next generation of models into the fashion industry. Over the last 9 years Shaw has been instrumental in scouting, developing, and managing the careers of aspiring models and helping them launch their careers. In one year of being a booking agency STRUT Models now represents over 100 models nationally and works with top brands and casting directors.
